Product Description

Furman calcium oxide is produced by calcining high-grade limestone under precisely controlled temperatures and is available in three grades: FM800 (CaO + MgO ≥ 80%), FM900 (CaO + MgO ≥ 90%), and FM900S (CaO + MgO ≥ 90%, fine-particle grade). These products align with the EN 459 standard and deliver consistent performance across diverse applications, including construction materials (lime products, cement, lime mortar), the metallurgical industry (slag formers, fluxes, desulfurization agents), environmental protection (flue gas desulfurization, acidic wastewater neutralization, sludge solidification), sugar and food processing (neutralizing acidity in sugar juice, precipitating impurities), lubricants and petrochemicals (calcium-based grease thickeners, lubricating oil detergents), fine chemicals (calcium salt precursors, bleaching powder production), and soil improvement (roadbed stabilization, drying of wet soil). The FM900S grade features additional controls on particle size distribution, free water content, penetration, and air content, making it suitable for specialized applications requiring superior workability and dispersibility. Applications

Construction materials

As a fundamental cementing raw material for the production of silicate-based building materials—such as cement, lime mortar, lime products, sand-lime bricks, and autoclaved products—it serves as the core calcareous material in the construction industry. FM800 and FM900 are suitable for standard building material production, while the fine-grained FM900S is better suited for ready-mixed mortars and plastering materials that require superior workability.

Environmental Protection and Pollution Control

Reaction pathway: CaO + SO₂ + ½O₂ → CaSO₄. Used in environmental protection processes requiring highly reactive calcium sources, such as flue gas desulfurization (semi-dry/dry methods: SDFGD/DFGD), acidic wastewater neutralization, and sludge conditioning and solidification. Hydration releases heat to form Ca(OH)₂ slurry, providing OH⁻ alkalinity for neutralizing acidic wastewater (pH < 4) and precipitating metal ions.

Metallurgical industry

Used as a slag-forming agent and flux in steelmaking, it removes impurities such as silicon and phosphorus from molten steel, lowers the melting temperature of the ore, facilitates impurity separation, and protects the furnace lining. FM800 and FM900 are suitable for general metallurgical applications, while FM900S is designed for processes requiring higher reaction rates.
