Applications

Halogen absorber in the petrochemical industry

Zinc stearate is used as a halogen absorber in the petrochemical industry. Manufacturers commonly use it to eliminate excess halogens that would otherwise reduce the stability and quality of products during advanced polymerization and synthesis processes.

1. Is magnesium stearate safe?

According to Directive 1272/2008/EC, zinc stearate is classified as a non-hazardous substance. According to the zinc stearate MSDS of CHNV Technology, the product can enter the human body through the skin, eyes or respiration. This may cause harm to the human body. Inhalation of this product by humans may cause bronchopneumonia. Long-term inhalation of zinc stearate dust may cause pneumoconiosis, with symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough and sputum. Please note that this product is combustible.
